Opal Belemnite Fossil

This is a beautiful specimen of an Opalised Belemnite Fossil found in White Cliffs ( Purnanga Field) NSW, Australia.

Most Opalized Belemnites are found only on the Australian Opal fields. 

Belemnites are ancient Cephalopods from around 100 million years ago. Ancient cephalopods were squid like creatures that are related to the Octopus & Cuttlefish.
