"Opalised Coral Ball" Gypsum Crystal Replacement. #03

The Coral Ball #03 split in half through natural fractures as it was unearthed. This specimen provides the Collector the opportunity to see the inner crystal structure and the Opal that replaced it internally. 

This is what we commonly call on field an 'Opalised Coral Ball'. Opal has replaced the previous gypsum crystal structure making it a wonderfully unusual piece to add to your Opal Collection.

Note : "Coral Balls' were previously commonly mistaken as an Opal Pineapple. Recently we have confirmed with geologists these are in-fact a gypsum replacement & not of the Ikaite mineral structure.
